Stained Glass Window: Deer, Stag, Blackbirds, Nature

This contemporary stained glass window shows a red deer stag, two blackbirds singing and pink spring tulips. Country folk know that red deer, native to England and Scotland shed their antlers each spring and re-grow larger ones.

This stained glass window has been hand painted and kiln fired using the same techniques and pigments which have been used since the early middle ages. The deer is painted on reclaimed vintage glass, and also silver stained in a second, lower temperature firing.  it has been constructed with traditional lead came and cement.

The green and pink glass used has been hand blown by English Antique Glass Ltd. This is a one of a kind piece, it is signed with the artists insignia of birds footprints in a square, and dated 2024 (see the green photo!)

Measures 12 inches in width and 17 inches in height, plus tiny hooks.
