Handmade Pink Medieval Moon Stained Glass Window Decoration

A luminous and enchanting stained glass moon, inspired by medieval church windows and handmade from hand-blown glass. The central moon face is hand painted and kiln fired using traditional church window techniques, surrounded by a richly painted border of fabulous purple hues with circles picked out by hand with a pointed stick — a detail as old as the craft itself.

The Craft

Both the central moon face and the decorative border are individually painted and kiln fired, using the same enamel pigments and techniques as traditional stained glass church windows. The result is permanent, deeply coloured, and will never fade. The handmade glass itself gives the piece a warmth and irregularity that machine-made glass simply cannot replicate.
