Handmade Robin with Holly Stained Glass Christmas Decoration

A truly heirloom-quality stained glass robin, hand painted and kiln fired on soft green glass with holly and pinky-red berries — the kind of Christmas decoration that never gets put away. Multi-fired with different coloured enamels for depth and richness, this luminous piece is constructed with copper foil and surrounded with lead, just as traditional stained glass has been made for centuries.

The Craft

The robin is painted and kiln fired multiple times to build up colour, texture, and life. Surrounded by a sprig of holly on its perch, the piece is then copper-foiled and leaded — a construction technique that gives it both strength and the authentic look of a church window panel. Every detail is permanent and will not fade.
