A Hare in Full Summer

Flowers, grasses, and a joyous blue sky surround a beautifully painted hare in this handmade stained glass window — a celebration of the British countryside in full bloom, captured in glowing, permanent colour.

The craft

The central hare is painted on vintage glass and kiln fired, making the colours and detail completely permanent — the same techniques used in church windows for centuries. The surrounding glass pieces are hand-cut from lovely green, blue, and pink glass, leaded together in the traditional way.

Crafted by UK artist Clare Maryan Green BA Hons. Work-in-progress photos are included so you can see the piece being leaded together on the workbench.

Versatile by design

This panel works beautifully as a glazed feature in a front door, or as a hanging sun catcher in any window. It comes ready to glaze — if you'd like hanging hooks added instead, just let Clare know at the time of ordering.
